Mr. Rex Alan Ezell

Obituary:

Mr. Rex Alan Ezell, of South Hill, died on Monday October 18, 2021 at the age of 51. Rex is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wendy Carter Ezell; his two daughters: Emily Nicole Ezell and Olivia Grace Ezell; his mother, Lee Ezell; his three brothers: Robert Ezell (Deborah), Richard Ezell, and Russell Ezell (Barbara); his sister, Angie Clary (Henry), many loving nieces, nephews and cousins, including two special cousins “Big” Earl Ezell and Jimmie Lee Ezell, and countless number of friends. Rex was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lewis “Bo” Ezell. After graduating from Park View High School, Rex became an automotive mechanic. After years of being a certified Ford mechanic, he started his own auto repair shop, Ezell Automotive Solutions, which he ran along with his wife and three dedicated employees: Tina Jarvis, Wayne Walker, and George Escobar. He enjoyed go-kart racing, fishing, wood working, machining, cooking, and motorcycling. He was a devoted husband and father and beloved son and brother. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday October 25th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery (Baskerville). The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, October 24th from 1:00 until 5:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to a dance fund set up for Rex’s two daughters at: Benchmark, Ezell Girl’s Dance Fund, PO Box 428 South Hill, VA 23970. Due to the family’s concern for everyone’s health and safety, it is requested that everyone attending the visitation and funeral wear a mask.

    We are so so sorry for y’all’s loss. Rex was a good and kind man who I don’t think ever met a stranger. It is hard to understand sometimes why God takes the young, good ones, but we know he will be with his eternal father and Bo Bo! We love y’all and please let us know if we can do anything.

I am sorry to hear about me and my mom and dad’s good car mechanic rex Alan ezell passing away one day .he was a good car go kart truck mechanic on everything .he was very caring fisherman car mechanic on this earth.he will be missed by everybody everyday. Prayers for the rex Alan ezell family friends good customers to wayne george tina jarvis family friends. We hate to see him go and pass away too soon.i wish I can afford to buy the business let them work for me.

  3. Wendy love, my heart is literally broken for you!! I prayed so hard for your family during this time. God apparently needed him more. Rex was a super guy! He was always so happy going. And the love his eyes showed everytime I would inquire about you and the girls was something to see. We love you and you will continue to be in our prayers throughout the coming days.

  4. I’m so sorry for the loss of Rex the husband, Rex the son , Rex the brother, but especially Rex the father. It’s hard as an adult to wrap your head around the death of a husband, brother and son. But for a child to understand when we ourselves can not give them a tangible explanation it’s like a fantasy that they think will change when tomorrow comes.
    All we can do is love the pain to a to bearable level.

    Wendy my thoughts & prayers go out to you, Emily, & Olivia. He was always so kind to everyone – whenever his name was brought up in conversation you would ALWAYS hear someone say “oh yea he’s a good guy” – one of the best compliments any Country Boy could get !!

    I never gave up hope. Knowing Rex, he was a truly down-to-earth and one I can discuss issues of the. I pray God will send His comforter to see the family through the these troubled days ahead.

  8. We are at a loss for words to express how sorry we are. We loved REX and loved for him to come by. He has been very kind to both of us especially Jimmie. He will be deeply missed not only as a cousin but as a friend.

  11. I am so sorry to hear that Rex passed away. We lose too many good people. Rex loved his family. I remember him laughing and telling me about about things his daughters did with a smile on his face. He was so proud of them. And he was proud to have you for his wife. He will be missed by many. You will get through this grief somehow. I wish I could take some of your pain from you just to give you some relief. Rex was a man of integrity and he was kind and smart and generous.
