Obituary:

Mr. Herbert Lawson Dawson, age 82, of McKenney, died on Tuesday November 2, 2021. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Dawson of McKenney; his five children: Janice Carpenter of Dinwiddie (John), Herbert J. Dawson , Jr. of Alberta (Wanda), Betty D. Jones of McKenney (Cameron), Cathy Dawson of Dinwiddie and William Edward “Sonnie” Maitland, Jr. of Warfield (Jean) and his many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren including two of his grandchildren: Lisa and Chelsie, who were his care takers. Mr. Dawson also had another special care taker, Dee. Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his son, Donald Wayne Dawson. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday November 8th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.     Grandpa was a good strong willed man I remember the days when I was little growing up playing around with my Aunt Kathy eating berries off the vines and aggravating Mary Ann haha hats off to you Grandpa you’re in a better place no more suffering no more drama of this world that we all live in I’ll see you soon one day rip respectfully your grandson Greg 🙂

    idk where to begin. all I know I miss you and love you. you rest now, I know you’re body is tired and week. grandiddy there’s one thing I’ll never forget. that’s how happy you were that I was getting married and how you wanted to be there even though you couldn’t because of your health. you never knew how much that meant to me. keep them laughing in heaven. we love you
