Obituary:

Mr. Willie James Spence, Jr., age 86, of Brodnax, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday November 2, 2021. Mr. Spence was the owner and operator of Spence Well and Septic. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Reed Spence of Brodnax; his five children: Sam Spence and his wife Bernice of Brodnax, Deborah Privette and her husband David of Brodnax, Ray T. Spence and his wife Mary of Brodnax, Dennis Spence and his wife Penny of South Hill and Ben Spence and his wife Luci of Brodnax; his twelve grandchildren: Jeremy Spence, Josh Spence, Jaimee Newcomb, David Privette, Jr., Adam Privette, Jay Spence, Holli Pollard, Emily Spence, Justin Spence, Brandon Spence, Kelci Spence and Rymon Spence; his sister, Barbara Gayle McElroy of Brodnax and his many loving great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday November 14th, which is also Mr. and Mrs. Spence’s 68th anniversary, at 2:00 P.M. in the Brodnax Assembly of God Church with interment to follow in Canaan Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brodnax Assembly of God Church at P.O. Box 267, Brodnax, VA 23920. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.
