Obituary:

Mr. James Douglas “Doug” Bishop, Jr. age 72 of Virginia Beach, died Saturday, November 13, 2021.He was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran who was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Bishop is survived by his sister, Brenda Balchin and husband Mike of Ninety Six, SC; his niece, Jamie Balchin; his nephew, Steve Balchin; his three great-nieces: Courtney Balchin, Tori Balchin-Brown and Zoey Balchin; his great-great niece, Nevaeh Norman and his great-great nephew, Lamarcus Kyng Norman. He was predeceased by his brother, Steve William Bishop, mother, Frances Upton Moore, and father, James Douglas Bishop, Sr. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday November 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with inurnment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park with full American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. until service time in the funeral home. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P. O.
