Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Vaughan

Obituary:

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Vaughan, age 91, of La Crosse, died on Monday January 10, 2022. She was a homemaker and the widow of Gilbert Carlton Vaughan, Jr. Mrs. Vaughan is survived by her six children: Mary V. Smiley and her husband Jimmy of South Hill, Douglas W. Vaughan and his wife Sue, Betsy V. Cassada and her husband C.W. of La Crosse, Jimmy Vaughan and his wife Cheryl of La Crosse, Thelma Baird and her husband Billy of La Crosse and Doris Weston and her husband Jerry of South Hill; her sister, Frances Seward of Jarret and her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her son, Herbert Vaughan. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Thursday January 13th at 2:00 P.M. in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Country S.P.C.A. at P.O. Box 14, Clarksville, VA 23927 or through their website, www.lakecountryspca.org.     Thelma, Betsy, Mary, Jimmy n all of family, I am soo sorry for the loss of your Mom. Many prayers for y’all in your days ahead! May God bless you each of your great memories of her.

  2. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all of your family. Know that although Mrs. Vaughan is gone from us in body, her spirit lives on through all of her children. No one is truly gone as long as they are remembered, so she will be us for many more years.

    Oh Doris, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know that grief is just overwhelming. You and all of your family will be in my thoughts and prayers I’m having mobility problems and also try to avoid crowds as much as possible so I’m not sure I’ll make it to the service but I will be thinking of you. Virtual hugs. Talk to you soon.
