Obituary:

Mrs. Lucille King Taylor, age 90, of South Hill, died on Sunday January 1, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family. She was a well known waitress who most recently worked at Brian’s Steak House in South Hill. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Marjorie McCall of South Hill; her three sons: Will Taylor of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, Lucius E. Taylor of South Hill and Jerry Taylor and his wife Darlene of Meredithville; her four grandchildren: Mark Capps, Kevin Capps and his wife Laena, Britt Taylor and Michael Taylor and her many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius E. Taylor, Sr., her parents, Marvin and Betty King and her four siblings: Ada Newsome, Sallie Allgood, Ed King and Amelia Harris. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday January 5th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. until service time in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the Taylor family asks that you consider a memorial contribution in Mrs. Taylor's memory to Lake Country SPCA 11764 Hwy 15. P.O. Box 14.
