Obituary:

Mr. Jimmie Lee Mays, age 58, of Tanglewood subdivision, Bracey, VA, died on Monday January 2, 2023 at his home. He was a retired nuclear tooling engineer for the nuclear power plant in Lynchburg, VA. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Alice Mays of Bracey; his daughter, Kayla Lee Mays of Lynchburg; his two step-daughters: Shannon Smith of Appomattox and Alisha Rockefeller of Appomattox; his brother, Peter Mays and his wife Vivian of Michigan; his sister, Tammy Lee Swift and her husband Stan of Georgia; his six step-grandchildren; his loving nieces and nephew, his friends who were his family by choice and his beloved fur daughter, Pippi. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Gerda Mays and his brother, Ronald Lee Mays, Jr. Services will be private. Memorial contributions in Jimmie’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital attn. Memorial Processing at 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.   3. Thoughts and Prayers

    It is with a very heavy heart that we express our thoughts and offer many sincere and loving condolences for the loss of our good and loving friend. Words cannot begin to express the void we now have in our hearts. We would like to extend our hands to Alice for any help we can provide to accomplish the dreams that Jimmie Lee had for his new home. We encourage everyone to keep Alice and the family in their thoughts and prayers.

  4. Alice-our hearts are so heavy-Jimmylee was definitely one of a kind and we loved him for always being him, for always helping us at the lake and more important, for being the absolute best friend anyone could have! He will be forever missed. RIP my friend.
