Obituary:

Mr. Herbert Montgomery Kinker, age 79 of Smith Cross Road died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in VCU/Community Memorial Hospital. He was a former driver for Yellow Freight of Charlotte, NC. and the widower of Brenda McClintock Kinker. Herbert is survived by his daughter Janette K. Heilman and husband Scot of Chesterfield, a step-daughter Cassie L. Crosen and husband Anthony of Winchester, VA, a step-son Todd Webber of Stephens City, VA, his brother Jerry Kinker and wife Peggy of Smith Cross Road, two sisters; Hazel Moseley of La Crosse and Della Taylor of Brodnax, six grandchildren; Ashley Garrett, Travis Heilman, Chance and Alexis Crosen, and Courtney and Christina Webber, six great grandchildren; Ayden, Crewe, Teagan, Hannah, Raelynn and Justin. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Ephesus Baptist Church, 1642 Smith Cross Road, South Hill, VA at 11:00 A.M. with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. The family suggest memorial contributions in Herbert’s name be made to the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1642 Smith Cross Road, South Hill, VA 23970.
