Ronald Gregg Gilbert

Mr. Ronald Gregg Gilbert, age 58 of Brodnax, Va. and formerly of Alabama, died Friday, April 28, 2023 at his residence. He was a former Warehouse Tech/ Driver for EBSCO Information Services and a United States Navy veteran.

Gregg is survived by his wife of thirty seven years Rena (pronounced Renee) Blanton Gilbert, his mother Nancy F. Gilbert Irwin of Birmingham, Al and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Ronald C. Gilbert and paternal grandparents R. Marlie and Mildred Gilbert.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home with interment in Crestview Memorial Park with American Legion Post #79 Military Honors. The family will receive friends, Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to your church or the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, P.O.     We have know Greg for more than 20 years, and was a close friends maybe more like family. Rest in Peace. Pray for you Rena and your family during this time.

    I’m so sorry to learn about the passing of Mr Gilbert. I’m really going to miss seeing him around and flagging me down just to have a friendly conversation. If it ever been a time that things didn’t seem to be going right all it took was for me to see him and that smile changed everything! It’s not going to be the same stopping at your box and you’re not around to joke with. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet you Mr Gilbert! Rest In Paradise! Praying for the family. 🙏🏾
