Mrs. Marguerite Barker Smith

Mrs. Marguerite Barker Smith, age 98, of Staunton, Virginia, died on Saturday May 20, 2023. She was a retired RN Nurse and had an incredible love for life even enjoying skydiving and parasailing into her 80’s. She was the widow of Leon Francis Smith, ll. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Leon F. “Lee” Smith, lll of California and her grandson, Stuart Smith of Staunton, Virginia. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Saturday May 27th at 11:00 A.M. in the Smith-Cook Family Cemetery in La Crosse, Virginia.   1. I never got to meet miss Marguerite in person but I so so so enjoyed getting to talk with her on the phone at my work. She was such a joyful and spicy lady, I always smiled to see her number come up. Once she sent me a picture of her parasailing and hang gliding along with a little note. I have those in my office treasures drawer. Fly high Sweet Marguerite until we have an adventure in heaven someday
