Mrs. Sherlyn Jones Smith, age 70, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday August 29, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Smith was a retired patient access representative with 39 years of service at VCU Community Memorial Hospital and the widow of Stephen W. Smith, Sr. She is survived by her two sons: Jeff Smith and his wife Lisa of Kenbridge and Stephen Smith and his wife Lauren of La Crosse; her sister, Kathy Arrington of Lynchburg; her brother, Scott Jones of Simi Valley, CA; her eleven grandchildren: Alexis Smith, Ethan Smith, Hayden Smith, Tenley Smith, Garrett Smith, Matthew Carley, Eric Carley, Grayson Smith, Savannah Smith Emily Smith and Willow Smith and her two great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Carley and Mason Carley. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Smith’s home till Saturday September 2nd. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Ms Sherry was truly a sweet lady. One of the sweetest I know. She will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Sending my prayers to the family.
Beautiful person
I worked with Sherry at CMH for nearly 40 years. She always greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. Always went out of her way to accommodate the needs of the patients and coworkers. Very special lady! She will definitely be missed. May God comfort the family during this difficult time.

Sherry and I have worked at CMH the same number of years. Have known this sweet soul for a king time. Always willing to help at work no matter how busy she was. She will be missed by me alot. All my prayers goes out to her family for there loss. Take one day at the time, the pain will ease up a little.
