Mrs. Debra Baldwin Moore

Mrs. Debra Kay Moore, 69, passed from this life to her heavenly reward Saturday, November 11, at the ECU North Hospital at Roanoke Rapids, NC, surrounded by loving family. Debbie was born December 29, 1953 to the late Bishop Frank Edward and Evelyn Martin Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Sharon Yvette Baldwin, Diana B. Joyner, her brother, Darrel K. Baldwin, and her brother-in-law, Bishop Ted Fortenberry. Debbie leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 28 years, Ricky Dean Moore of the home, her brothers, Bishop Don Baldwin and wife Jackie of Fayetteville, NC, Dwain Baldwin and wife Theresa of Vinton, VA, her sister, Darleen Fortenberry of Myrtle Beach, SC. And her sister-in-law, Julie Baldwin of Pendleton, SC. Extended family includes Roger Jones, Ricky Smith, Phillip and Sharon Taylor, David Joyner and Patsy McKay. Debbie was a fun and cool aunt to 14 nieces and nephews, and 14 great nieces and nephews. Debbie was a dedicated Christian, and devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She had great faith and music was her joy. She loved traditional hymns and praise and worship music. Debbie held a double degree in education and taught in the Virginia public school system. Debbie will be remembered for her love for God and people, her positive attitude, giving spirit, and her sense of humor, even in difficult times. She treasured any amount of time she could spend with her family. Debbie is safe in heaven at last, but she will live on in the lives of everyone she touched. Thank you, Debbie, for being “you”. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday November 15th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Canaan Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. My Tribute
My tribute to my beautiful sister Deb at her funeral:
Deb. My beautiful sister, friend and confidante. You have been beside me my entire life. No matter where I was or what I was doing, you were always there in spirit to cheer me on and in prayer for God to guide me and be with me. I will miss the visits, the baking of our favorite foods from mom’s green cookbook from Kenbridge church, the memories of reminiscing. The card games, the Hallmark Christmas movies, going out to eat at our favorite restaurants, just enjoying life together whenever we were together. I am so sorry for all of the suffering and pain you had to endure with your cancer these last few years, I know it was very hard for you. But through it all, no matter how bad you were feeling in body, you stood strong in your faith and in your walk with God. When you were feeling really bad, you would call me, “Hey sis, can you put me on Facebook (she really said on the internet) for prayer??” I would tell her, “Absolutely!” She believed when we “put her on the internet for prayer,” that the more people that prayed for her, more prayers were reaching God’s throne on her behalf and she had faith in God that He was going to hear those prayers. I believe that her just knowing that all of those prayer warriors were praying for her made her feel better. That last morning she was in the hospital, my friend Debra Ford was there with my daughter Lauren and I. Debra pulled out her vial of Annointing oil that she carries with her everywhere and said, “Let’s anoint Debbie and pray for her.” We took the oil upon our hands, and placed our hands upon her body in prayer. As I was praying, I placed my hands upon all areas of her body Debbie was suffering from. I cried out to the Lord, “God, she has cried, prayed and had faith in you all of these years for her healing. If it be your will to heal her in this life, then Lord, please heal her right now! If not, then just give her her ultimate healing.” God heard that prayer, He took her home just a few hours later. She had not opened her eyes all day. Towards evening, we came into the room and her eyes were open. I ran towards her and was calling her name, but she wasn’t hearing. Her eyes were focused upwards towards the corner of the ceiling. We did not know at that moment that death was eminent, but in that moment I believe my sister was seeing angels, saying, “Debbie! Come with us!! The master is calling you home!” Because in the matter of just a couple of minutes, she closed her eyes, took one last breath and she was gone.
She had run the race, she had fought the fight with great faith and she was now in The arms of her Savior.
Every phone call with Debbie ended with, “I love you sister of mine.” But if she couldn’t reach you, she would always leave you a voicemail saying,
“I’m sorry I missed you, I love you and I’ll catch you later.”
Debbie it’s my turn to say, “I love you sister of mine, I will always miss you. And I’ll catch you later.”
Debbie was a great cousin to have in our lives she taught me how to sing and help me find God in a lot of ways if I had a question about the Bible she knew the answer. We sure will miss you but I know you finally at the heavenly gates with God. I will always charish my members of you in our love ones in heaven. Love Tammy Hodges Mullens

Debra will certainly be missed at Harvest Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. She and Ricky worshipped alongside our church family for many years. Praying for Ricky and all of the family.
