Obituary:

Mr. Cecil Coley Reamey, age 93, of South Hill died Sunday November 19, 2023, in his home. He was the former manager of Schewel’s Furniture of South Hill for many years, a U.S. Army Korean veteran and the widower of Mary Ellen Fox Reamey. Coley is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Jones (Lanney) of Amelia Courthouse; his granddaughters, Brandi Grant (Wayne), Hollie Jones (Chris), Jayme Shears, and Katie Hubbard (J.T.); his four great grandchildren, Madison, Lola, Remi, and Carson; and his two great-great grandchildren, Ryker and Skyler. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Reamey “Tody” Seamans. A graveside funeral service will be conducted Friday November 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in Crestview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family ask for memorial contributions to be made to, the South Hill Fire Department at 114 N Brunswick Ave, South Hill, Va 23970 or Southside Rescue Squad at P.O.     We the children and grandchildren of the Late Edna Gray Phillips, who worked for Mr. & Mrs Reamey and their daughter’s, we would like to express our deepest sympathy to you all. You all are in our prayers and blessings to you all.

    I worked with Coley for many years at Schewels. It was my privledge to be associated with such a fine man. His humble demeanor and and stength of character was always evident. In life I have found that when you meet a person such as Coley you feel one of the great pleasures life can bring. My deepest condolences to his family.
