Obituary:

Mr. Charlie Earl Rook Sr., age 85 of Tanglewood Shores sub-division, Bracey, and formerly of Fish Road Emporia, Va. died Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his residence. He was a former Warphand for J.P. Stephens Company. Mr. Rook is survived by his three sons; Charlie Earl Rook, Jr.( Missy) of Emporia, Walter B. Rook( Kristi) of Bracey and Tony W. Rook also of Emporia., Three daughters; Diana R. Davis of Goldsboro,North Carolina, Carol R. Thomas(Ricky) of Gumberry, N.C. and Elsie R. Tanner(Russell) of Nashville, N.C., a sister Shirley Horne of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.,Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers; Ashby Rook, Pender Rook and Elax Rook and two sisters; Mabel Reeves and Vatania Larrimore and a Granddaughter, Stephanie Rook Williams. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Forest Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Brink, VA. The family will receive friends Monday, April; 1, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Amedisys Hospice, 920 S.   1. So sorry to hear about your dad Walter. I knew he had been sick. I hope he had a peaceful journey. He will live through your memories and stories and tears and laughter. Sending peace and comfort and love.
