Obituary:

Mr. Jonathan Paul Vega, age 41 of Midlothian and formerly of South Hill, died Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was a loving stay-at-home dad and an avid volunteer with several youth sports organizations. He was also a talented craftsman and painter and previously worked with a team that renovated historic homes in Richmond.

Jonathan is survived by his wife of nearly fifteen years, Kathryn Hite Vega, three sons, Roman, Deacon and Creighton, his mother Mary Ann Vega of South Hill, two brothers Jason Paul Vega and wife Amy of Moseley and Paul Romero Vega IV and wife Joanna of South Hill, his mother-in-law Marjorie M. Hite also of South Hill, two brothers-in-law Christopher Hite and wife Leigh of Midlothian and Ryan Hite and wife Tina of South Hill and his adoring nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 5:00P.M. at Midlothian Middle School, 13501 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA 23113. The family will receive friends for refreshments immediately after the service. Memorial contributions in Jonathan’s name may be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond.     Jonathan was a great neighbor and a great friend. I will miss our conversations. I remember working in the front yard a few times, he would be on his way to the store and ask if I needed anything. Jonathan was a thoughtful, personable guy, who truly loved his family and people.

    My family call him Vega. He was a good friend to Jason Roberts my son and to me . I love to talk to him we had heart felt conversations and I enjoyed them. I will miss him very much. We will see each other again my friend ❤
