Mr. John Paul Smith, age 51 of Baskerville, died Friday, April 26, 2024 at his residence. He was a Truck Driver for W.T.Allen Trucking out of Henderson, N.C. for twenty-five years. After leaving W.T. Allen, John purchased his own Truck and started J. P. Smith Trucking. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years Loretta Collins Smith, two sons, Trent Cole (Crystal) of Green Bay, Va. and Jacob Smith of South Hill, three daughters, Larissa of South Hill and Kailey and Sara Smith both of Baskerville, two sisters, Yvonne Cline (Mike) of Chesterfield and Zandra Clary (Skeeter) of South Hill, two brothers, Mark Smith (Dolores) and Scott Smith (Hope) both of Chase City, five grandchildren , Bentley, Evelyn, Addyson, Valerie and Adeline and his many loving nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents David F. and Betty Smith and a sister Karen Smith. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.
