Christy "Crickett" Lynn Pierce

Mrs. Christy “Crickett” Lynn Pierce, age 56, of Brodnax died in her home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was a retired substitute teacher for Mecklenburg County Public Schools. Crickett is survived by her husband Christopher Eugene Pierce, her sons; Thomas Pierce (Michelle) and Adam Pierce, and a favorite niece/daughter, Amanda Minor (Chris) and their children; Lexi, Lani, Emmalee and Oakley whom she thought of as her grandchildren. Crickett is also survived by two sisters; Cynthia “Cymp” Wilson (Rex) and Sandra “Sam” Kidd (David) as well as many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Crickett is predeceased by her parents; Admiral “Tommy” H. Lawson and Kathleen “Suki” Lawson, a sister; Patsy Walker (Skinner), a brother; Donald Lawson (Linda), her husband’s parents Eugene & Mattie Lee Pierce and her brother in law Emmett Lee Pierce. A visitation will be held Saturday May 4, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Crowder – Hite – Crews Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the South Hill American Legion at 219 Brook Ave, South Hill, VA 23970. I met Christie through LaCrosse Elementary School on my daughter’s first day of school. She and Adam were in the same kindergarten class and she was a substitute teacher when my son came along 7 years later. Rest easy my friend! I’m so shocked hearing about her passing. My prayers go out to her family and close friends.
