Mrs. Shirley Seward Winckler

Mrs. Shirley Seward Winckler, age 79, of Boydton, died on Friday June 21, 2024. She was a retired employee of Jones Apparel. In her working career she also worked for the former La Crosse Sportswear and the South Hill Walmart. Mrs. Winckler is survived by her two sons: Robert F. Winckler, Jr. and his wife Nereyda of Chesterfield and Robert VanDyke and his wife Melissa of Boydton; her brother, Rufus “Budda” Maitland of South Prince George; her two sisters: Ruby S. Myers of South Hill and Lidie Cottee of Jarratt; her three grandchildren: Katherin Winckler, Amber VanDyke and Dylan VanDyke and her many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Winckler was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lynn Winckler. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday June 28th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department at 1697 Palmer Springs Road, Boydton, VA 23917. OMG! I just found out she had passed. Me and Shirley had some good times at Walmart. She was the best hang out person. Shirley was a sweet person and would help anybody out in need. A good friend for sure. RIP Shirley and condolences to the family.
