Obituary:

Mr. John Franklin Van Zandt, age 61, of Bracey, died on Friday July 12, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was a retired engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, an active member of the Henderson, NC Masonic Lodge, served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army from 1971 until 1987 and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Pamela M. Van Zandt of Bracey; his children: Joey Van Zandt of Bracey, Crystal Mann of Bracey, Josh Freeze and his wife Tiffany of Burlington, NC and Brad Freeze and his wife Misty of Graham, NC; his grandchildren: Brandon Freeze and his wife Kate, Jacob Freeze and his wife Briana, Hailie Freeze, Bentley Freeze, Charleigh Freeze and Victoria Church and his great-grandchildren: Tatum Freeze, Kuhlani Worthy, Keshawn Worthy and Kaliana Church. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date at the Americamps Chapel. Once this service is scheduled it will be posted on this obituary.
