Obituary:

Mr. David Clyde Brown, age 63, of Brodnax, died on Thursday August 29, 2024. He was a retired employee of Brown’s Towing, a veteran of the National Guard and a long time volunteer fire fighter for the Alberta Volunteer Fire Department. David is survived by his wife, Beverly M. Brown of Brodnax; his two sons: David Charles Brown of Lawrenceville (Nicole) and Nick Brown of Brodnax (Skyler); his two step-sons: Travis Moore of Elizabeth City, NC (Amanda) and Brent Abernathy of Brodnax (Jennifer); his three grandchildren: Brantley Brown, Barrett Brown and Bennett Brown; his three brothers: William Abernathy of South Hill, Bruce Solomon of DeWitt and Jr. Hale of Dolphin and his two sisters: Glenda Robinson of Oklahoma and Brenda Clark of Brodnax. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Hale and his sister, Lynda Hale. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday September 1st at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Canaan Cemetery with full American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 in the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to the Alberta Volunteer Fire Department at 54 Main Street, Alberta, VA 23821.
