I was fortunate to meet both Jimmie and Amy not long after I met Jeff, one of their nephews.
The love this couple shared was an inspiration. Jimmie spoke of Amy being the love of his life, and Amy has shown over and over again that he is hers. When Jeff and I gave the two a souvenir stein from Germany, Jimmie said, “This reminds me of my courting Amy.” He pointed to the flowers, the meeting of the family, the being together. Such a set of memories they revealed that afternoon!
Anyone who did not know Jimmie would still recognize a sweet heart if they had seen him with his little pomeranian, Copper. I remember him in Becky’s kitchen as he chose the red pup instead of the black one (still getting the okay from Amy), and I can see Copper wrapped around Jimmie’s neck or sitting in Jimmie’s lap as Jimmie drove his truck. That dog enjoyed such love in their home because that’s what Amy and Jimmie are … hearts that give to all.
My own heart is with you, Amy, and with the many who love this man.

  7. I have always thought of Jimmie as a mentor, he shared
His wisdom and history of Lacrosse VFD, with me when I first joined the department as a junior member over thirty years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family and friends.
