Obituary:

In Loving Memory of Susan Wilson Brown

Susan Wilson Brown, born on May 3rd, 1955, passed away on October 4th, 2023. Though her passing was unexpected, she was able to be surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments. Susan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Dr. Elton H Brown, who stood by her side through the joys and challenges of life. She was a proud and loving mother and grandmother to her daughters, Cameron Brown and Hayden Hall, and granddaughter, Clarke Hall who were all a source of great joy in her life. She is also survived by Hayden's husband, Jeff Hall, her sister, Courtney Wilderman, and brother, James “Jim” Wilson, and many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Copley Wilson, and father, James Samuel Wilson.
Susan's warm and welcoming personality knew no bounds. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She never met a stranger; in fact, if she encountered someone she didn't know, she would start the conversation with a simple, disarming, "Hey, I don't know you." This was her endearing way of engaging with others, often leading to heartfelt conversations and discovering connections she shared with them.
Susan was not just a beacon of friendliness; she was also deeply involved in her community. Her spirit of generosity and her commitment to helping others touched the lives of many. Whether it was volunteering her time, lending a helping hand, or offering a kind word, Susan's contributions to her community were immeasurable.
Susan’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. We will remember her for her boundless love, her contagious laughter, and her ability to find beauty and connection in every encounter. In celebration of Susan’s life, there will be a visitation at The Bragging Rooster, 120 S Main St, Warrenton, NC 27589, on Saturday, October 14th from 2:00-4:00 PM. The funeral will be at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, 210 N Main St, Warrenton, NC 27589 on Sunday, October 15th at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Memorial Methodist Church or Warren Plains Methodist Church.
