To the Baker family, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Jennifer at Hype for a long period of time and as we got to know each other, we began to trust each other and so some days we would sit in our office and we would talk and laugh and talk about intimate stuff and wow not to share it with anyone and we would just laugh. I just spoke with Jennifer a few months ago and we talked about getting together and having lunch one day just to talk about old times and they get caught up. Rest easy Jennifer no pain. Jennifer had a beautiful spirit you couldn’t help but love her because her spirit just attracted you to her.

  3. Friend and former colleague

To the family and loved ones of Jennifer Baker,

My heart goes out to each of you, especially her son, her daughter, and her grandchildren. Jennifer was so much more than a coworker to me. We became real friends. We spent quality time together, she cared about my children, and she became someone I truly loved and respected.

One of the things I will always cherish about Jennifer is that our friendship didn’t stop when the workday ended. She intentionally made time for me outside of work, and because of that, we had the opportunity to truly bond and build a genuine friendship. Jennifer carved out time for the people she cared about. She had a way of making you feel special, seen, and valued. In a world where everyone is so busy, that meant so much. When Jennifer gave you her time, you knew it came from a real place of love.

Jennifer and I also shared the bond of recovery, which made our connection even more meaningful to me. She understood people in a special way. She was an incredible counselor who genuinely cared about the people she served. She did not give up on people. She believed in them, encouraged them, and wanted to see them get the help they needed to keep moving forward.

Jennifer, Miss Willis, and I were like the “dream team” at the HYPE treatment building. We worked side by side, putting our minds together, sharing ideas, and doing everything we could to help people. Jennifer was always open-minded and supportive of ideas, especially when she knew they could make a difference in someone’s life.

But beyond the work, Jennifer was simply a beautiful person. She was fun, spunky, classy, sassy, loving, and full of personality. She was a true beauty ambassador, inside and out. She brought something special wherever she went, and she had a genuine love for people that could be felt.

I loved Jennifer, and I miss her deeply. I am so grateful that she made room for me in her life and that I had the privilege of knowing her beyond the workplace—laughing with her, spending time with her, working beside her, and calling her my friend. She made people feel like they mattered, and that is something I will never forget.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I am keeping her family, friends, and everyone who loved her close in my heart during this incredibly difficult time.

    With love and sympathy,
    Shavone

  5. Coworker

My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Jennifer Baker.

Jennifer was so much more than a coworker to me. She was a genuinely kind-hearted person with a beautiful spirit, and whenever I was around her, she always seemed to be in good spirits and brought that same positive energy to the people around her.

She also played an important role in my journey as a Peer Recovery Specialist. She took the time to mentor me, share her knowledge with me, and help me grow in this field. I will always be grateful for what she personally poured into me.

Beyond what she did for me, I know how much she gave to others and how many people in our recovery community were impacted by her compassion and willingness to help.

Jennifer will truly be missed. I am deeply sorry for your loss, and I am keeping her family, friends, coworkers, and everyone whose life she touched in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Jennifer. Thank you for everything you gave to me and to our community.
