  1. Rachel-Susan and I just saw this obituary. We did not know or we would certainly have been there. We ran into Randy at the P.O. often. So sorry for you and the family. We will be seeing you soon.Wish we could offer comfort to you,but know it isn’t possible. We can only offer our heartfelt condolences as you go thru your healing. You and the family,as well as Randy, are in our prayers

  2. I’m so sorry to hear of Randy’s passing. I worked with Randy at LaRC for many years, and we had many great discussions. I supported him and his team when he went to Homestead to do underflights of the space shuttle, and I remember well when he went to Kuwait to measure the pollution from the oil fires after Saddam Hussein set them afire. RIP Randy. You were a good man and a good friend.

  3. Dear Rachael and family Here is a voice from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. I am writing from Germany and refer to my encounters with Randy in Siberia and elsewhere in the world. Randy will remain in my memory as an outstanding personality. Who else in the world has tracked space shuttle emissions, content of lead coffins that should contain the Rosetta Stone of humanity (as Joel Levine refered to) but catching cockroaches instead, or the exhausts of smoldering droppings of South African wildlife in savanna fires? He is very well documented in the documentary “The Fire Experiment”, which you may wish to see through the online repository of the Global Fire Monitoring Center (GFMC): http://www.gfmc.online/wp-content/uploads/Bor-Forest-Island-Fire-Experiment-FIRESCAN-1993-Documentary-ENG.mp4 Good memories of a honest, tough and always straightforward, modest and brilliant friend! God bless him and your family – I am with you Johann

  4. My dear friend

Rachael I am so sorry to hear about Randy and my heart is with you right now. Your husband made me laugh every time I had the honor of spending time with the two of you. I was truly blessed to be able to spend time with you and Randy when I lived close by. If you ever need me, just reach out and I will be there. Sandra Jewell

  5. To Rachael and family,

I am so sorry to hear of Randy’s passing. You, Randy and the kids were a wonderful part of Eddie’s and my lives. Randy was always a source of joy for us and for you too but you also are a saint for dealing with his intensity. What a guy! I loved that he was part of the guy’s lunch group. It’s great to see the male bonding that was so genuinely enjoyed by the group. He will be missed and remembered with a smile. My heart goes out to you and the family.

  6. With Much Sadness

    Dearest Rachael and family.
My heart is so broken for you all. So sudden. We know he is better off now but we feel the loss. May you feel the comfort that only God can give and remember you have many friends who sorrow with you and will consider it an honor to walk along side you on this new journey to which God has called you. I love you dear Rachael. Ann
