Mr. Elmer Dewey Wishon, Jr. age 58 of Baskerville, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his residence. He was a self-employed construction worker and avid fisherman.
Dewey is survived by four children; Christopher Willoughby (Lacy) of Mississippi, Joey Wishon of PA., John Wishon (Marnie) of PA. and Julie Campbell (Kenny) also of PA., his step-mother Susan Wishon of West Virginia, four sisters; Linda Tomes (Jack) of West Virginia, Deborah Yates (Stanley) VA, Tracey Cuba (Kevin) of Florida, Christina Thompson of Arkansas, three brothers David Thompson (Brenda) and Michael Thompson (Dee) and Jonathan Thompson all of Mississippi, nine step-brothers and sisters; Wendy, Philip, Stephen, Sherry, David, Al, Connie, Judy and Terry, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Charles Tommy Mills (Josephine) of Baskerville. He was predeceased by his father Elmer Dewey Wishon, Sr, step-mother Gloria Wishon and mother Catherine M. Thompson, a grandson Garrett.

    I was saddened to hear of Dewey’s passing. I was fortunate to have known Dewey the last couple years. He helped me with clients needing home repairs/handicap ramps at no cost, and as well did work for several elderly people at a very low price because he knew they were unable to afford much. He had a big heart.
