Mrs. Donna Melton Davis

11/19/1953 - 11/28/2021

Obituary:

On Sunday, November 28th, 2021, Donna Melton Davis went home to be with the Lord. She was known for her caring heart, her dedication to her family and friends, and her warrior spirit. Donna is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, James Thomas (Tom) Davis. The couple were inseparable and were the epitome of unconditional love. She is also survived by her two children: James Thomas (Jimmy) Davis, Jr. of La Crosse and Angie Davis (William Flippen) of Baskerville; two grandchildren: Colby Davis and Emma Flippen; her two sisters: Ivy Smith of South Hill and Rita Tanner (Bob) of La Crosse. She also left behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Leroy and Cornelia Melton. Donna spent many years working in the Respiratory Department at CMH where she made many lifelong friends. She was a devoted member of La Crosse Baptist Church where she spent many years blessing its’ members with her beautiful piano playing. Donna left behind a legacy of love, sharing, and a bright Christian light, she will be missed everyday. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 1st at 2:00 P.M. in the La Crosse Baptist Church with interment to follow in the La Crosse Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30th from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory.   1. I went all the way through school with sweet Donna. She always had a quiet demeanor and a beautiful voice. She will be greatly missed by her family and community. Sending much sympathy and love to your family

  2. I am so sorry for the loss of this daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. There are very special roses that God chooses for his rose garden. Donna was a special one. Prayers for her family as they go through missing her.

    Donna was a devoted and beloved member of LaCrosse Baptist Church. My Mother, Mabel Ferrell, always spoke highly of Donna. My sisters and certainly appreciated Donna playing for our Mother’s funeral. She will be missed by many friends in the LaCrosse community.
