Gail Cook Wilson

Ms. Gail Cook Wilson, age 60 of South Hill, Va. died Sunday, December 4, 2022 peacefully surrounded by family in VCU/Community Memorial Hospital. She was a former paraprofessional and retired from Mecklenburg County Public Schools. Gail is survived by a daughter Casey Jackson (Joe) of South Hill, a son Jonathan Wilson (Tiffany) of Chesterfield, a step-son Jeromy Wilson (Becky), the father of her children Dennis W. Wilson, three sisters; Diane Cook Bowers (Bobby Williams) of South Hill, Renee Cook Moore (Keith) also of South Hill, and Stacey Cook Gatti (Sandra Rash) of Richmond, a brother Eddie Morrison (Peggy) of La Crosse, a special cousin D. T. Vaughan (Kathy) of South Hill, three grandchildren; Jordan Wade Jackson, Caylen Wray Jackson and Wake Maverick Wilson, two step-grandchildren; Jessica Leigh Wilson and Maya Danise Wilson, loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, a special friend Ron Hoover of South Hill and best friend Kathy Melton Kirby also of South Hill. She was predeceased by her parents William Howard and Mary Ruby Cook and a son Trevor Wade Wilson. Gail was a beloved daughter, sister, mama, and Gaga. She loved others with her whole heart and prayed for the well-being of all.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, December 9, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Gail’s name may be made to the Ronald-McDonald House, VCU Medical Center, 1250 E. Marshall Street, 7th Floor, Richmond, Va. 23220.

Mama, I don’t have the words. Thank you for raising us the way you did, and for always being in our corner. I can never thank you enough for the love you gave us over the years. This still doesn’t seem real, and it’s a pain like no other. However, I know you’d tell me to pick up and carry on, and that’s exactly what I plan to do. Just know I will miss you the rest of my days, but I know you have God, Grandma, and Trevor on the other side. That’s the only thing that gives me peace. I couldn’t ask for a better Guardian Angel, and I know you’ll be teaching me and guiding me along the way. I’ll be strong for the family, but just know, I’m hurt and I’m lost without you. Until I see you again on the other side, just know I love you.

It’s been years since I’ve spoken with Gail but she was always a beautiful in and out person.
First cousin
To think that Gail is gone away from this earth is difficult to process. She was way to young! We were cousins and close friends during our formative years. Gail ask Christ into her heart while spending time with us during the summer. I loved her dearly❤️

Never have I ever met such a sweet and loving girl. Her former husband filmed our daughters wedding several years ago and I met Gail sweeping the front steps at Thr First Baptist Church, prior to everyone getting to the church! This was just one act of her kindness I love you Gail , Rest In Peace.

I am so deeply sorry for Gail’s passing. Such a beautiful lady. Of course I knew her Mama and Daddy, they were my first cousins. Gail will be greatly missed. Good thoughts and abounding prayers for family and friends.
