Mr. Joe Snead Pruitt

Obituary:

Mr. Joe Snead Pruitt, age 73, of Boydton, died on Sunday, January 29, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. He was a longtime herdsman for Blalock Dairy Farm in Baskerville and a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife, Joyce C. Pruitt of Boydton; his three sisters: Nancy Rowland and her husband Earnest of Danville, Sally Scearce of Danville, Elsie Setliff and her husband Mike of Danville; his two brothers: Jack Pruitt and his wife Judy of Danville and Ricky Pruitt of Danville; his two brother-in-laws: Kenneth Chapman and his wife Janet and and Douglas Chapman and his wife Robyn; his many loving nieces and nephews; his special friend, Cathy Hatcher and his beloved two beagle “fur babies”: Maggie Mae and Peewee Scout. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday February 4th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA. with full American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. until service time in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Mr. Pruitt’s name may be made to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association at P.O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924 or to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 16, Chicago, IL 60601 or through their website, www.alz.org.
