Mr. David Luther Ashby, age 58, of South Hill, died on Thursday September 7, 2023. David worked very closely with his father in their family owned grocery store, Food Deals, located in downtown South Hill. David later became an employee of Food Lion in South Hill. He also was a very avid reader. David is survived by his sister, Rhonda C. Ashby of South Hill. Services will be private. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Rhonda, I’m so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I often asked David about you when I saw him at Food Lion. I told him of our connection in Mr. Allen’s Biology class way back in high school. They were good times. And that’s what you have got to hold onto…the good times and good memories.
