Obituary:

Mrs. Lisa Newton Martin, age 58, of White Plains died Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at VCU/Community Memorial Hospital. She was the store manager for the former Shoe Show of South Hill for thirty-three years.
Lisa is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years Thomas Bruce Martin , a daughter Karen Wray of Ebony, three brothers; Johnny Newton of South Hill, Mitchell Newton ( Debra) of Meredithville and Alvin Newton (Jennifer) of Brodnax, a grandson Cameren Wray of Ebony and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, August 23, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home with interment in Canaan Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral Home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.   1. I knew Lisa when she came into my family a long time ago .She. was a beautiful soul and when she took my niece under her wing and raised her when needed we will always be thankful for that.Fly High Lisa you will be missed.🙏❤💔

    I was saddened to learn of her passing. Lisa was an genuinely a nice and caring person. She was always so helpful. Whenever I would go in to show shoe, we strike up a conversation. Like we’ve been friends forever . God rest her soul. Condolences to the family.
