Mrs. Dorothy Layne Coley, age 78, of South Hill passed Sunday, June 21, 2026. Dorothy was a longtime manager of Hardee’s. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Lee Coley; and her parents Andrew Jackson Layne and Marie Davis Layne Hendrix. Dorothy leaves behind; her sons Vincent Coley and Timothy “Timmy” Coley (Stephanie); her sister Frances Spence (Steve); her grandchildren Dillion L Coley, William ‘Will’ Coley, Breana Coley and Ava Coley: three great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Canaan Cemetery, Brodnax. The family will receive friends the night prior, Friday, June 26, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at Crowder – Hite – Crews Funeral Home.
