Deborah Susan Wright, 74 of Brodnax, passed away August 27, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Evelyn Bulian formerly of Yankton, SD. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Leonard Earl Wright; two daughters: Erika (Marvin) Atchinson of Oneonta, NY and Tabitha (Jerome) Bryant of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren: Khi, Jaylen, Jasmine and Justus; three brothers: Michael (Judy), James (Karen), and Alan (Vickie); three sisters: Carmen (Gary), Vicki, and Kathryn (Jeff); and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated from the South Dakota School for the Deaf in Sioux Falls and afterwards went on to graduate from Gallaudet University, Class of 1974. She was a retired Media Technician from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind. After retirement, she and her husband relocated to Brodnax, VA to be near family. The family will receive family and friends at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory, South Hill, where funeral services will follow at 12:30 P.M. Private interment will be held at a later date in Canaan Cemetery, Brodnax, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Gallaudet University: Denison House, 800 Florida Ave. N.E., Washington, DC 20002 or online at https://gallaudet.edu/development/give/. I’m so sorry about your loss. My husband passed away any it is not easy.
