Obituary:

Vincent Lee Compton, Sr., age 59 of South Hill, passed away April 25, 2026 at his home. Vincent was born July 2, 1966 to the late James Richard Compton, Jr. and Betty Lehman Compton. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tammy Arthur Compton; his sons, Vincent L. Compton, Jr. and Christopher A. Compton and spouse Brittany Compton; 4 siblings, Jennifer C. Monroe, Lisa C. Arthur, Jeffrey Compton and Randy Compton; 5 grandchildren, Hunter, Makenzie, RJ, Madeline and Calliope; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Vincent was a dedicated and loyal husband, a loving father, a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion and the owner of Compton Enterprises, where he brought several decades of plumbing experience to the local community. Vincent was a hard worker and always did everything he could to provide for and take care of his family. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM April 29, 2026 with funeral services following at 2:00 PM in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home Chapel.     Tammy & family, I have many fond memories of Vincent & Tammy! We’ve been friends for many years. He was such a good man who greatly loved his family & he always loved Tammy since we were in high school. My thoughts & prayers for comfort & God’s sweet peace for the family during the difficult days ahead.
