Mrs. Donna Crutchfield Cumbia

Mrs. Donna Crutchfield Cumbia, age 73, of South Hill, passed away on Monday July 20, 2026. She was a retired employee with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Donna is survived by her son, Davis Cumbia and his wife Kristen of South Hill and her two grandchildren: Scarlett Cumbia and Ryker Cumbia. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Hart Cumbia and her parents, Davis and Ruby Crutchfield. The family will receive friends on Sunday August 2nd from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. in the Freedom House Ministries located at 24515 Highway 47, South Hill, VA 23970. I was truly saddened to hear of Donna’s recent passing. She was an very dedicated and dutiful member of the Treatment and Programs Dept. at Mecklenburg and Brunswick Correctional Centers. She was always very pleasant and very thorough in handling sensitive offender information in the days before computers. She relied heavily on good memory and instant recall skills. She was a lively and engaged member of the social community within the facility. Donna and Mr. Jerry Davis always stood out and made me proud as a manager.
