Sharon Vaughan Thompson, age 66, of LaCrosse passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at VCU Hospital of Richmond. Sharon was a cosmetologist and loved reading her favorite novels, watching the hummingbirds, cooking and crime shows as well as spending time with her family and friends. Sharon was the daughter of the late W.R. “Billy” Vaughan and Eulia Clyde Crowder. Sharon is survived by her daughters, Stacey Thompson of South Hill and Krystal Daniel (Wil) of Edenton, NC; her four grandchildren, Brayden, Kynleigh, Greenlee, Hazel; her nieces, Stephanie, Michaele; her stepbrother, Tim Moody (Lori) of South Hill; and her beloved family dog Nacho. Sharon is preceded in death by her sister Wendy Vaughan; and her stepsister Dawn Moody.
The family will host a visitation on the evening of Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at their home; 39510 Highway 58, LaCrosse, VA 23950. I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. I worked with her at Peebles, and we became the best of friends. We nicknamed her “Stumpy”. Sharon was truly a loving person and would do anything for anyone.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
