Mr. George Allen "Buddy" Nash, Jr.
04/19/1943 - 08/23/2023
George Allen Nash, Jr (Buddy) of Clarksville, VA was born April 19, 1943 in Roanoke Rapids and passed away August 23, 2023. He was a proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He worked at Stroh’s Brewery for 25 years and went on to become owner of Nash Enterprises until he retired. He was a master welder and could repair or build just about anything. He loved fishing, hunting and was a competitive weightlifter for many years. He was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles. And was steadfast in keeping up with current events and the news. He loved a good joke and classic country music.
He was a great thinker, funny, complicated, generous and kind-hearted. There will never be another one like Buddy. He is survived by his wife, Rose, his daughter, Lisa Nash and stepson Jeff Clary, step-grandchildren: Gage and Olivia Clary. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Blanche Nash; brother, Jimmy Nash and sister, Lucy Smith. A funeral service with military honors will be conducted at a later date in the Amelia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, Va. The family suggest memorials contributions be made in Buddy’s name to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, c/o MCCA, P. O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924 or the Lake Country SPCA, P.O. Box 14, Clarksville, VA 23927 Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Nash family.
